某些數字萬用表具有測量電容的功能，其量程分為2000p、20n、200n、2μ和20μ五檔。測量時可將已放電的電容兩引腳直接插入表板上的Cx插孔，選取適當的量程后就可讀取顯示數據。

用電容檔測量電容時，若顯示的讀數遠小于標稱值，說明該電解電容已損壞。對于鋁電解電容來說，若顯示的讀數遠小于標稱值，說明電容內部電解質已干涸，不能使用了。若測量擊穿損壞的電容，則萬用表顯示的讀數為“1”。對于漏電大的電容，用電容檔測量時，顯示的讀數會顯著高于其標稱值。
